Pilot App
At Pilot, I led design for key guest utilities in their mobile app, which provides utilities and rewards for professional drivers who fuel at Pilot’s nationwide travel-center network. Here are some of the projects I designed.

Performance was measured before and after a major redesign of the app and I was pleased to see that my new designs had a huge impact, significantly raising usability scores.

The Map
The most-used feature in the app, the map is a key tool for drivers as they plan their routes and stops. I redesigned the map from the ground up, including the pins, filters, location detail cards, and all the map interface elements, making it a modern, sleek, daily utility for pro drivers.
Location Search
Search allows drivers to find locations across Pilot’s network. It is a seamless transition from the map to search and back again.
Mobile Fueling
Drivers can start a fuel pump from their cab, an important feature for their comfort and the efficiency and security of their on-site routine. This work required close coordination with the pump engineering teams and all the myriad back-end systems that handle payment and pump operations.
Utility Plus
The fueling flow is clear throughout, giving drivers confidence as they go about this routine task, but I also interjected moments of delight in strategic places, working with our talented illustrator and animator to make this truck happily bob as it is fills up.
Parking
Reserved overnight parking is another key need of professional drivers that I worked on. I designed the app flow for parking at Pilot, enabling drivers to reserve and pay for a spot before they arrive.
